Self driving safety steps into the unknown

On August 30, 2017, I published an article in TheDrive about lessons that the autonomous vehicle (AV) industry could learn from decades of automation experience in aviation. In that article, I note that aviation has been continuously improving automation, and the AV industry could benefit by learning from and avoiding aviation’s automation mistakes rather than repeating them.
