Roundtable on data for automated vehicle safety

The Department recently hosted the Roundtable on Data for Automated Vehicle Safety. This multimodal event brought together over 60 participants from federal, state, and local government; the private sector; non-profit organizations; and research centers to discuss the data exchanges that these participants believe are most critical to the safe deployment of automated vehicles. This report summarizes key discussions from the roundtable and includes materials, such as the draft USDOT Guiding Principles on Voluntary Data Exchanges to Accelerate Safe Deployment of Automated Vehicles, that were the basis for discussion.
