Looking for hands on wheel of autonomous vehicle regulation
The auto industry is running headlong into a future where the driving experience will morph into a riding experience as autonomous machines do all the stuff once performed by humans. But at the Society of Automotive Engineers World Congress Experience this week in Detroit, an overriding theme isn’t so much how to build better vehicles the public drives, but how are we going to regulate development and testing of the vehicles that will drive themselves, while convincing the public to trust their safety.
