Investigation Launched into Cruise’s Self-Driving Cars Getting Too Close to Pedestrians in Texas
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has opened an investigation into Cruise, a self-driving technology company, over reports of its autonomous vehicles getting dangerously close to pedestrians in Texas. Cruise, which is backed by General Motors, Honda, Microsoft, T. Rowe Price, and Walmart, recently moved to the final stage of testing before launching its fully automated ride-hailing service in Dallas.
