Fleet performance and cost evaluation of a shared autonomous electric vehicle fleet: A case study for Austin, Texas

University of Texas, May 26, 2017

Electric Vehicles (EVs) are an attractive option for shared autonomous vehicle (SAV) fleets because of their high energy efficiency and reduced emissions. Unfortunately, EVs are disadvantaged by their relatively short range and long recharge times, so it is important to understand how these factors will affect an electrified SAV (SAEV) fleet in terms of vehicle mileage, vehicle productivity, response times and cost.
