Driverless cars are to hit the streets of Hounslow in London, England, before Christmas. Following successful trials in Oxford, England, the DRIVEN consortium – made up of autonomous vehicle software provider Oxbotica; Oxford Robotics Institute; AXA XL; Nominet; Telefonica; TRL; the UK Atomic Energy Authority’s robotics centre RACE; Oxfordshire County Council; Westbourne Communications and Transport for London – will begin trials of its autonomous cars on London’s roads this month.
