Data for automated vehicle integration
In March 2018, the U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) hosted a Public Listening Summit on Automated Vehicle (AV) Policy to inform its upcoming guidance on automated vehicles, known as AV 3.0. This event built on earlier federal guidance for Automated Driving Systems (ADS)—Automated Driving Systems 2.0: A Vision for Safety, released in September 2017. The guidance calls for industry, state and local governments, safety and mobility advocates, and the public to lay the path for the deployment of automated vehicles and technologies.
