Self Driving’s Sentiment Shift
Wall Street is abuzz with autonomous-vehicle startups trying to go public. Argo AI, the self-driving upstart backed by Ford and Volkswagen, has hired banks for its next private funding round as it eyes an IPO later this year, as my colleagues Kiel Porter and Keith Naughton scooped earlier this week. Aurora, led by alumni from Tesla and Alphabet’s Google — and backed by Amazon, Uber and Toyota — reportedly is in talks to merge with a special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC. And Waymo, which raised $2.5 billion last month, is also grooming itself for an IPO.
