UConn to study self-driving cars with new full-sized simulator
The most expensive car in Storrs may just be a once-totaled Ford Fusion. A Michigan technology company rebuilt the 2014 midsize sedan into a full-scale driving simulator for UConn, one of just a few schools in the country to have one. For the university and the state Department of Transportation, which split the $400,000 cost, it’s an investment in a not-so-distant future when drivers must share the roads with self-driving cars.
